Exploring Student Transportation Options for School and Community Partnerships
In fall 2018, Dr. Alan Brown, Ms. Mandy Christman, and Ms. Julianna Miller collaborated on a questionnaire intended to explore transportation options for Wake Forest students interested in school and community partnerships for the purpose of tutoring, mentoring, volunteering, and/or other service-related activities. The purpose of the questionnaire was to identify transportation issues, concerns, and barriers that Wake Forest students face when attempting to volunteer or provide service to communities beyond the Wake Forest campus, including Winston-Salem and/or Forsyth County.
Questionnaire Administration
The questionnaire was distributed via Qualtrics to 50% of the Wake Forest undergraduate student body (n=2598) from October 15 to October 19, 2018. A total of 294 students (11.3%) responded to the questionnaire using the Qualtrics link.
An anonymous link was also sent to known students who participate in off-campus service and clinical experiences with a request to complete the questionnaire and share it with their peers. An additional 101 students responded to this anonymous link.
In total, 395 Wake Forest undergraduate students responded to the questionnaire.
